In January 2003 the Hekman Library became a depository for Michigan documents. The collection is currently housed at the end of the federal documents collection, and it contains many statistical publications. Listed below are some online sources for Michigan government information.

Michigan Legislature
Allows user to browse bills, view tables of Public Acts (since 1997), check the calendars of the Michigan Senate and House, and link to other useful sites.

Michigan Electronic Library's Michigan Government Site
This is the comprehensive site for Michigan government web pages, gophers, FTP sites, and telnet sites.

Michigan Tax Forms
The Michigan Department of Treasury in cooperation with the Michigan Electronic Library is providing online access to state tax forms as a public service to the citizens of Michigan. You can download, view, and print Michigan tax forms from this website. The forms are in Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF).

Michigan Department of Education
The State Board of Education site provides information for parents, educators, and administrators, as well as statistics, grant information, publications, and links to other education web sites.

Michigan In Brief
This handbook addresses 65 Michigan policy issues (such as assisted suicide, genetic cloning and testing, welfare reform, etc.), giving background, a nonpartisan discussion of policy options, and sources of additional information. Also included in this reference site are: descriptions of local government organization and the three branches of state government; an explanation of the state budget process; and many useful appendices.
