New and Improved LibGuides

New and Improved LibGuides

LibGuides are research guides created by the librarians at Hekman Library and designed to help you succeed in your research.

Our subject-specific guides direct you to resources tailored to your subject of interest, from Accounting to Engineering to Music in Worship. Each LibGuide offers an overview of the relevant library resources related to each subject: recommended reference books, reliable and authoritative websites, core research databases, and suggestions for how to take your research to the next step.

Our class guides offer course-specific help for a variety of classes at Calvin, including English 101 and Engineering 101. These guides have been created through collaboration between the professor and a librarian who specializes in the subject of the class. Class guides often give information -including tips and suggestions- having to do with major projects that will be assigned.

Lastly, the librarians have created a series of "How to find" guides to assist patrons in everything from finding your way around the library website to citing sources in a paper.

Each guide also provides the contact information of the librarian who created it, so feel free to ask questions or set up an appointment for further research assistance.

Over the summer, we upgraded our guides from LibGuides v.1 to LibGuides v.2, so enjoy the newer, more visually appealing design and the up-to-date content.
