Special Collection Engages Students

Recently two education professors brought their classes to work with Librarian Lois Dye in the Curriculum Collection. This is a special collection of the Hekman Library, located in the northwest corner of the 2nd floor

The Curriculum Collection contains materials in mixed formats that are appropriate for the K-12 classroom. Students majoring in Education find these materials very practical and useful for their assignments, as well as for internships and teacher aiding.

Some of the highlights of the collection:

  • textbook series from major education publishers in multiple subject areas
  • teaching tools such as magnifying glasses, tape measures, and building blocks
  • historical documentaries
  • picture books
  • math workbooks
  • games and puzzles
  • flashcards
  • puppets

There is a 2-week checkout period for most materials in the CC.
