NOTE that the Hekman Library's select collection of EEB microforms has been made redundant by the library's subscription to the complete collection of EEB through Early English Books Online (EEBO).

This microfilm collection is based primarily on the bibliography of Pollard and Redgrave, A short-title catalogue of books printed in England, Scotland and Ireland,...which lists and describes books printed in English from the advent of printing in England in 1475 through 1640.

A second collection, Early English Books, Series II, is based on Donald Wing's Short-title catalogue of books printed in England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, and British America,... The filming of the early editions, scattered in public and private collections throughout the world, makes these works readily available. The books are filmed in units and are arranged within them alphabetically (which is also the short-title catalogue number order), either by author or title.
