Gale Directory Library allows users to perform searches in authoritative directories on companies, publishers, associations, and more. Directory content, however, is not current. Most current data is from 2013 (Business Rankings Annual).
Gale Virtual Reference Library is a collection of more than 100 authoritative encyclopedias, dictionaries, directories, handbooks, almanacs and other reference materials accessed via one interface or individually. Individual titles may be searched by logging into the database and then narrowing to a specific title.
As of November 1, 2011, the Hekman Library no longer has access online to the Grand Rapids Press. The link provided here will take users to the MLive site, which offers a 14-day searchable archive of the GR Press and other Michigan newspapers. People with valid Grand Rapids Public Library cards can access this site in order to search a more extensive archive of the press.
