Finding New York Times Articles

To find articles from the New York Times from 1995 to the present, use the New York Times (via GaleGroup) database. You can also access New York Times articles from 1980 to the present through LexisNexis Academic , but not all articles from the print edition are included (for copyright reasons).

Articles before 1980

To find older articles (before 1980), search the New York Times Article Archives 1851-1980 or the print index to the New York Times. These resources will help you find only the citations of older articles; the articles themselves will be found in the library’s Microforms collection (2nd floor) at call # AI21 .N44. Note that Hekman Library owns the entire history of the New York Times on microfilm, from 1851 to present.
