The main reference collection of over 20,000 volumes (2nd floor) consists primarily of print materials in all subject areas, with special strengths in literary criticism, communication arts, history, and biography. Reference books do not circulate outside the library, except with permission from a librarian.

The reference librarians recognize that today's college students do most of their research online, so the collection contains many electronic books--most of them found within three collections: Gale Virtual Reference Library, Sage Knowledge, and Oxford Reference Online.

Keep in mind that the library also has a theological reference collection on the 4th floor. This collection is comprised of Bible commentaries, dictionaries, concordances, study aids, denominational handbooks, and the like.
