Guest User's Policy

In order to encourage responsible borrowing and to safeguard the interest of our primary clientele, a fee of $15 shall be charged to guest users for a Guest User's Card which gives them the privilege of borrowing materials from the Hekman Library for a six month period of time. No other privileges, such as Interlibrary loan, are included. If a card becomes missing or lost, a new card, valid for a six month period from the date it is acquired, must be purchased.

Persons who are exempt from the fee include: Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary faculty, emeriti, staff, students, and alumni (NOTE that alumni status, as defined by the Alumni Association, requires the completion of at least eight course units in good academic standing)

Spouses and dependent children of Calvin faculty and staff can be exempt from the fee upon the written request of the employed faculty or staff member. Such a request should be addressed to Carla Todd.
