Article Request Form - Use to request articles from magazines, journals, or newspapers.
Non-Article Request Form - Use to request books, or chapters or essays from books. You may also use this form to request audiovisual items such as music recordings, films, or microfilm, but note that A/V items are less commonly lent out via ILL.
ILL is offered free of charge to members of the Calvin community (staff, faculty and students of the college and seminary). Alumni have limited ILL access, but this service is not extended to other guest users.
ILL is meant for short-term loans; the typical loan period is two weeks with the possibility of renewal (exceptions may apply). Note that ILL is not an alternative to buying textbooks, given the short borrowing period and that many other libraries have restrictions on loaning textbooks.
Most ILL requests can be filled within 1-5 days. For items that are unique or must be requested from a distant library, the process can take several weeks. When a patron's request is filled, he or she will receive an e-mail with an electronic copy attached or be notified that the physical item is ready to be picked up at the 2nd floor Circulation desk).
