Rather than blocking faculty borrowing privileges, the Circulation Director will be alerted when limits have been reached. He/she will contact the faculty member to encourage compliance and/or offer an "exception" when necessary. The Library Director or Library Committee will mediate any unresolved problems which may arise.
A faculty member may renew any book via email.
Provided that no one has placed a hold on the book.
The second overdue notice will indicate replacement cost and a non-refundable processing fee of $10. All patrons are subject to replacement costs and processing fees

If a patron requires a book held by a faculty or staff member or graduate student, the library requests that the faculty member return the book if s/he has had it for two weeks. Recalled books should be returned as soon as possible, but no later than 7 days after recall. Books that are needed for Reserves purposes may be recalled from any borrower, and should be returned immediately.

A faculty member may request an exemption from the guest user's fee for a spouse and dependent children by sending a written request to the Head of Circulation or Library Director. Calvin alumni are already exempt.
