Loan Period, Fine, and Renewal Policies Holds and Recalls

Holds

If a book you are looking for is already checked out, you may place a hold on it. To do this, search for and open the WebCat record for the item, and at the bottom of the screen, click on the hyperlinked due date.

You will be prompted for your Username and Password. You will be notified when the book has been returned, and it will be held at the main Circulation Desk on 2nd floor in your name for seven days. You may also ask the Circulation Desk staff to place an item on hold for you.

Recalls

A "recall" may also be requested for an item that has a due date three or more weeks in the future. The person currently "owning" the item will be asked to return the book within seven days of receipt of the recall notice. A recall will be done only for items checked out to faculty and seminary Ph.D. students, or if an item is needed for reserves. This service is only available at the Circulation Desk.
