Services InterLibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a research service in which library staff will attempt to locate any source in any library around the world. ILL is offered for free to all Calvin students, faculty, and staff (see ILL Policies for other users).

  • Most ILL requests can be filled within 1-5 days. For items that are unique or must be requested from a distant library, however, the process can take several weeks.
  • InterLibrary Loan is meant for short-term loans; the typical loan period for ILL'ed materials is two weeks with the possibility of renewal (exceptions may apply).
  • The Interlibrary Loan office is located behind the main circulation desk on the 2nd Floor. All ILL items can be picked up and dropped off at this desk.
