Getting material from other libraries, or Interlibrary Loan, is a free research service offered to all Calvin students, faculty, and staff. The library staff will attempt to locate any source in any library anywhere in the world. Most requests for items found in Michigan libraries can be filled in a week or less; however, depending on where we ultimately locate the item, the process could take several weeks. The typical loan period is two weeks with the possibility of renewal (exceptions may apply). You will be notified when your item has arrived and is available for pickup.
See our Interlibrary Loan policy for Alumni.
- Our Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service is only available to members of Calvin College and the Calvin Theological Seminary, and, in a limited capacity to all Calvin alumni and Christian Reformed Church pastors, both practicing and retired.
- Forms submitted by any others will be deleted without explanation or warning.
The Interlibrary Loan office is located behind the circulation desk on the 2nd Floor. All ILL items can be picked up and dropped off at the main library Circulation Desk.
Often items are available for loan from other local libraries. Check in advance with the lending library regarding their loan policies. If you have questions about submitting an ILL request, contact the Program Coodinator, Interlibrary Loans.
