The primary mission of the library’s Interlibrary Loan service is to serve the research and information needs of students and faculty of Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary. For others, interlibrary loan services are available at most public and academic libraries. If an alumnus of Calvin is enrolled at another institution, he or she must use the ILL services of that institution.
That being said, our Interlibrary loan staff will provide services to alumni with the following restrictions:
- requests are limited to 5 per academic year and an additional 5 during the summer sessions.
- requests submitted by primary users (see above) will be processed first. After that any requests from alumni will be processed.
- borrowed materials, excluding photocopies, must be used in the library. Photocopies will be mailed.
For purposes of clarification: an alumna or alumnus is defined as someone who is listed in the Calvin College Alumni Directory. A person must typically attend Calvin for one academic year in order to qualify as an alumna or alumnus. Graduates of the seminary’s EMPC (Ethnic Program for Ministerial Candidacy) are considered alumni if they have been enrolled for one quarter or more.
