Introduction

Searching for information about the world of mass media; print, film or electronic (and don't forget radio)? Research in mass media includes subjects from popular culture and television criticism to discussions on gender in advertising or communications ethics. There is a bewildering array of resources available. Besides using Google, check out an encyclopedia or dictionary listed below for exploring your topic. Communication & Mass Media Complete incorporates the content of CommSearch and the Mass Media Articles Index along with other journals in communication and mass media to create a resource with scope and depth encompassing the breadth of the communication discipline. CMMC offers complete indexing and abstracts for over 370 journals and select coverage of 230 more for a combined coverage of over 600 titles. Full text articles are available for more than 240 journals.

Film Literature Index

Humanities Abstracts


Humanities Abstracts contains abstracts (summaries) of feature articles, book reviews, interviews, obituaries, bibliographies, original works of fiction (including dramas and poems), and reviews of plays and television and radio programs. It indexes nearly 600 journals covering a variety of subjects in the humanities, including philosophy, film, folklore, religion, music, and the performing arts.

The MLA International Bibliography is a subject index for books, articles and websites published on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and linguistics.
