Faith and Education Subject Guide

Introduction

The Hekman Library is rich in resources on the subject of faith integration into all areas of study. To guide you as you search for materials on faith and its integration with the disciplines, the librarians, with faculty input, have gathered these core resources together.

ATLA Religion Database


Journal articles, essays in multi-author works, and book reviews on such topics as biblical studies, world religions, church history, and religious perspectives on social issues.

Educator's Reference Complete


Educator's Reference Complete indexes more than 1,100 periodicals (450 are full-text academic journals) as well as hundreds of full-text ERIC reports. The database is intended for the K12 educator or administrator as well as education students, faculty, and researchers. It covers multiple levels of education from preschool to college; topics include educational specialties such as technology, bilingual education, health education, and testing, and also issues in administration, funding, and policy.

To find material on the integration of faith and learning in Education Abstracts, you can use the subject heading "Religious Education" and combine with keyword "integrat*." The asterisk is a truncation symbol, enabling you to search the root word (integrate) and other forms as well (integrating, integration, etc.)
