Introduction
The study of philosophy is closely tied to the study of history, theology, and religion. Be prepared to examine those subject guides also when working on a philosophy research project. As a general rule, research tools for history, theology, and religion will not be included in this subject guide. Also, all disciplines have a "philosophy of..." component. For example, researchers can study the philosophy of education, politics, history, science, medicine, and so on. This guide includes only research tools for the study of philosophy as a discipline. Use the appropriate discipline subject guides to locate material on the philosophy of a discipline.
